The key team members have all worked within the industry since the late 1980's, originally being part of Calder Technical Services, a manufacturer of electrofusion welding equipment, and designing welding units such as the SAM2 and Picador units.

In the early 1990's, the company was merged with MCA, a utility hire company, creating MCA-Calder. This gave huge experience of the hire market and an understanding of how to make reliable equipment for heavy-duty usage.

The company then became part of Vulcathene, Durapipe then Glynwed Pipesystems. Being part of a global pipe manufacturer gave valuable experience of designing welding systems, with the Vulcathene Enfusion System and the Akatherm Specialist Drainage System being designed. Other welding units such as the SAM6, Samurai, Merlin, Evolution, Nomad and Connexion were also designed.

In April 2005, the key team members left Glynwed Pipesystems and started a new company, Advance Welding. With experience of Electrofusion Welding Unit design since 1989, we are perfectly positioned to know and understand the growing technical demands of the pipeline industry. We don't react to new developments, we make them!
